Yeah, so funny thing happened to me!
I am now a proud winner of a student work Addy's award!
So... What are the addys?
The World's Largest Advertising Competition
With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY® Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition. The ADDY® Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association conducts the ADDY® Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry. (http://www.aaf.org/)
Anyway, I was rewarded a Student Award for my work on these GAP Sock Ads that I worked back in December of 2008.
You can see it here: (go to page 9!)

Funny story actually- my partner on this project decided to enter it WITHOUT telling me.. and only after we won, I saw him in one of my classes and he decided to tell me then.
Him: "Hey did you hear? We won an addy!"
Me: "WHAT? For what?!"
Him: "Those Gap ads we did..."
Me: "WHAT?! How come you didnt tell me you entered it?"
Him: "I thought Andy told you." (Andy is our 3rd partner)
Me: "Uh... no.. He never did..."
Him: "Oh..."
I was a little annoyed that they didn't tell me because the Addy's award ceremony was the previous Friday.. which I missed. Oh well, I'm not angry really but just a little disappointed that I didnt get to attend it. ALSO, I am a little annoyed that didn't give me credit for Art Direction -as it was entirely my idea and my photographs! Really now, the guy who submitted it- his part on this project was PURCHASING the socks for the photoshoot. Way to get major creds man...
