"Tweens"

So I've been watching a lot of SNL lately on Hulu. Hulu is amazing isn't it? I used to love SNL- but I haven't had the time to watch any of it- but I've been catching clips again lately and I realized it's gotten pretty good again. I remember there was a stage of SNL where the writing was horrific and the jokes were trashy and not even remotely intelligent or witty- but I feel like they've gotten back their good writers. Maybe it was the strike- who knows?

I was watching the Zac Efron Monolouge and I learned a new word. (haha)
"Tween"

Wiki describes it word as "the word between–tweens are not quite children, and not quite teenagers. A tween is between 8 and 12 years old, and a tweenager is 10 to 12 years old (under 13 years of age). Regardless of the specific age, though, it is useful to define tweens as being in that awkward stage of pre-puberty and puberty where they’re just beginning to form stronger social bonds with their peers and desiring more independence from their families, usually in the form of wanting to be more “grown up.” It’s the age where adolescent identities are just beginning to be formed under the realization of a bigger, more complex and, notably, cruel, world than anyone had imagined as a child."

Interesting, eh?

On the ends of my photographic adventures- I went to the Met in order to gain some inspiration and to immerse myself once again in the conceptual. Drawing on the work of past artists and present, I think all people- whether they call themselves artists or not- should have some understanding or some exposure to expand their state of mind. Or even to have their concrete thought patterns interrupted. It's just nice to exercise one's brain once in awhile.

Anyway, here's a great shot that I got on the roof of the Met :) I always wanted to go up there, but they always had it closed since 9/11 :T
