Yesterday was July 4th! I took my final for Japanese Communications class! We got out at about 3:30 PM. I had made plans the night before with Keiichi, Kohei and Kazuki to do a photoshoot at 4:00, so I met with them and started our shoot. They were really great models! Very ‘cool guys’ and definitely easy to work with. Yeah, I had a bit of trouble trying to communicate because my Japanese isn’t the best and their English isn’t the best- but it was still went really smooth. So where did I even get this inspiration to do a photoshoot? Last night, a few of us were in the lounge, trying to ‘study’, when Keiichi began to make weird poses, and so I was snapping away. Then I figured, Keiichi is a good looking guy, wouldn’t it be pretty sweet for my portfolio to have a few good looking images? So I asked, and he was more than happy to! We all had a lot of fun today, and they are willing to do it again! I am so happy! I really wanted to shoot something. Lately I have been feeling a little unaccomplished.
At 8:30 we all headed out to the beach. The SGE students and the foreign exchange students. Japanese beaches are very different from American ones. There was absolutely NO lights. It was pretty much pitch black, and the fireworks looked amazing. We were all setting off fireworks and sparkles. It was so beautiful and amazing! I have actually never done this before in my entire life.. since it’s illegal in New York State to possess any fireworks at all. A lot of the guys also went swimming in the sea… it was a really nice night. Very calm, sweet, nostalgic and definitely a lot of fun.
Happy July 4th!
